The Lord is my strength and shield;
my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
My heart leaps for joy
and I will give thanks to Him in song.
The Lord is the strength of His people,
a fortress of salvation for His anointed ones.
Save your people and bless your inheritance;
be our shepherd and carry us forever.
Psalm 28:7–9

Dear Prayer Partners,

Thank you for another month of prayer faithfulness on behalf of Ohfi. We continue to experience God’s grace flowing through Ohfi and its partners to bring hope and wholeness into the lives of many children, families and communities.You and your prayers are the strength of Ohfi. As the bees who fan air through a beehive keeping the hive at the right temperature for the bees’ health, so do you through your prayers fan God’s grace to the benefit of the children and families we serve. We thank God for you and the outpouring of His grace.

We thank you Lord for

Kolkata
— with the support of Jason and others from Kapiti, the start-up of the sewing class in Kolkata with 6 students and a teacher.
— that the 6 Tuition Centres are running well. The children are now preparing for exams.
— for the medical camp held in the new area of Khatal for the first time. Many adults, including children, were treated for fevers, colds and cough, malnutrition and diarrhea. The same camp will be held again this month depending upon the availability of a doctor.

Zambia
— for the appointment of Roslyn, supported by Dickson in Missis, as the new leader for Open Home Foundation Zambia. This is a long-awaited answer to our prayer for a new leader.
Roslyn’s role is to organise the women’s groups, follow up with how they are doing with their income generating projects, and to organise seminars to train the women further. Dickson’s role is to organise the youth programmes and monitor the progress of the school in Missis.

Mozambique
— for the good news of two young people from Mozambique. Felito writes—

Agradeço was the first child to come and live at the Center of Hope. His Mum brought him to us a week before she died. He has now finished school, obtained his driver’s license and passed his training and license for driving heavy machines. He is looking to drive in a mine.

Francelina was born in South Africa by a Mozambican father. Both her parents died and she was sent to family in Mozambique. Her Grandma was unable to look after her, so she was placed with us. Francelina has been with us for 5 years now. She has finished school and completed a welding course and accreditation. She is now ready for a job.

Uganda
— for the many donations received by Ohfi that will mean the deep water well in Bunyinza in Eastern Uganda can now be completed. The well will benefit not only the newly established and sustainable goat farm project, but also benefit all the villagers with readily accessible clean water.

This is a huge step up for the villagers from having to walk a long way to an unsatisfactory water supply. Many hundreds of people will benefit now, and going forward, thousands upon thousands.
